Learn West African movements and dance sequences from Ghana, Guinea and Senegal - the roots and influences behind today's dance styles! West African Dance combines elements of music, rhythm, song and fitness that exercises mind, body and spirit. Break away from the traditional fitness routines! West African dance offers a dynamic, whole-body, cardio workout with ENERGY. Help build stamina, increase flexibility and develop a firm body tone and shape (through movements geared to stretch and strengthen), help weight loss and develop grace and finesse through body awareness (promoting strong posture and body alignment). This class will leave you feeling re-energised, uplifted and inspired.

West African dancing is different to the common styles of dance in our western culture. It takes time, patience and practice to develop these techniques in our training. We have structured this beginners African dance workshops so that students can gain the full benefits of African dancing and reach their full potential. In these workshops, beginners will learn the basic foundation movements used in West African dancing to develop technique and rhythm while increasing fitness levels.

This is suitable for beginners with no previous dance experience and experienced dancers who wish to further develop their skills.
